"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

-Confuscius

Have you ever dreamed of just quitting your job, selling everything you own, leaving friends and family behind and taking off to the woods for a six month hiking adventure? Well that is exactly what I did when I embarked on a solo thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail from March 5 to August 14, 2000.

I hiked 2167.1 continuous miles from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Baxter Peak on Mount Katahdin, Maine through 14 states and 3 seasons. It was quite an amazing journey!

~ Attention Class of 2000! ~

Congratulations to everyone who completed their hike! I'm sure you are missing the trail and dealing with post-trail blues just like me... Anyway, I'm trying to compile a Class of 2000 page with everyone's Katahdin or Springer pics so if you have one please email it to atpics@triplecitizen.com and I will post it with the rest.

Please let me know if you want your email address listed too so other gamers and megas can track you down.

Thanks and happy hiking to all!

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

- Henry David Thoreau
